Bettors like Raiders
Womens Donald Penn Jersey , Browns, Steelers to win AFC The Cleveland Browns have made a lot of improvements this offseason, with new coaching assistants and an almost totally revamped roster featuring new starting QB Tyrod Taylor, #1 overall draft pick Baker Mayfield, RB Carlos Hyde and rookie RB Nick Chubb as well as WR Jarvis Landry and returning WR Josh Gordon. They have a far more talented roster now than at any time since the days of Bernie Kosar, and the public is telling Vegas that they are buying in.This doesn’t mean that the most money is being put on the Browns, it means that the highest amount of people are betting on the Browns to win their division. And why not? The other three teams in it are pretty overrated in my view. But this Tweet would seem to imply that it’s the Raiders who have the largest number of bets to win the AFC, at least at Caesar’s Palace. How is that possible? Let’s take a look at the current odds to win the AFC.The Browns are at +3500, the Steelers are at +500 and the Raiders are at +1800. The favorites are, of course
Womens Kelechi Osemele Jersey , the Patriots at +250. I cannot fathom taking a Steelers team with a creaky defense at +500, that’s a sucker bet. The Browns might win their division, but they will never win a playoff game with Hue Jackson as their head coach. But the Raiders? At +1800? That right there is worth plunking down fifty bucks. The Raiders have a far better roster with a vastly superior coaching staff now than when they made the playoffs in 2016, and if Jon Gruden’s smash mouth style and Paul Guenther’s blitz-happy defense work as planned, there’s no reason the Raiders can’t win the AFC this year. At those odds, it makes sense that the public is taking that bet.Raiders offensive quartet sets franchise mark and other superlative in win over Browns Everyone likes a nice round number. In the NFL, the round number they like is zero. In particular two of them preceded by a third. Surpassing 100 yards for receivers and running backs is noteworthy. As is surpassing 400 yards as a passer. Over the first three weeks of this season, the Raiders had one player do that in each game. On Sunday against the Browns they had four players do it.Derek Carr threw for over 400 yards (437), Amari Cooper (128) and Jared Cook (110) both had over 100 yards receiving, and Marshawn Lynch had over 100 yards on the ground (130). This is the first time in franchise history since the AFL merger the Raiders have accomplished that.Overtime certainly helped them put up those numbers. At the end of regulation
Womens Justin Ellis Jersey , only Marshawn had surpassed 100 yards. Carr had 335 yards, Coop had 78 yards and Cook had 77. But they all showed up in the overtime session to put together monster games.Even just the trio of offensive weapons all going over 100 yards was something the Raiders hadn’t done in over 20 years. The last time was week 4 of the 1997 season when Napoleon Kaufman rushed for 126 yards, Tim Brown put up 153 yards and James Jett went for 148 yards. This isn’t the first time Coop and Cook have surpassed 100 yards in the same game. They did in last season in the Raiders big win over the Chiefs that ended their 4-game losing streak. This was just the third time in Carr’s career he surpassed 400 yards. His 437 yards is the second most in a single game in franchise history behind only...himself. He set the record with 513 yards in an overtime win over the Buccaneers in 2016.This is the sixth time in Carr’s career he’s thrown for four touchdown passes in a game. That ties him with Ken Stabler for second most in franchise history. Only Daryl Lamonica has more (7).As for Marshawn, his 130 yards rushing is the most he’s had in a regular season game since November 9, 2014. He had 157 yards in the playoffs that year against the Packers.Other superlatives:Gareon Conley had his first career interception and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown to give the Raiders a 7-0 lead with 10:01 in the first quarter. The last time the Raiders returned an interception for a score was Nov. 27, 2016, when Khalil Mack intercepted Carolina’s Cam Newton for a 6-yard touchdown.Jared Cook leads the league among tight ends with 370 yards. He is the only tight end this season to have surpassed 350 yards and is 9th in the league among all receivers.Cook had six of his eight receptions go for first downs, improving his season total to 18 which leads all tight ends this season.DT Johnathan Hankins had two fumble recoveries in the game. One late in the third quarter after Maurice Hurst recorded a strip sack of Baker Mayfield and the second early in the fourth quarter on Cleveland’s 20-yard line. Both led to touchdowns.Bruce Irvin and Maurice Hurst both recorded their second sacks of the season. Both have a strip sack as well. Irvin in the opener and Hurst in this game. They have 4.0 of the Raiders combined five sacks this season. Clinton McDonald has the other.RB Marshawn Lynch broke off a 52-yard rush late in the 3rd quarter, which marks his longest run since joining the Raiders prior to last season.WR Jordy Nelson’s 19-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter gives him 18 since 2016 which leads the league.Follow @LeviDamien
